All-glass railings | Furniture Store Segmüller
In mid-December 2016 the eighth store of the furnishing retailer Segmüller started in Pulheim near Cologne on a sales floor of 160,000 m². For quite some time the familiy-run business has been prominent for distinctive furnishings which is proven by its longstanding experience. The Segmüller company has been trading since more than 90 years.
The heart of the furnishing store in Pulheim is an elegant spiral ramp featuring transparent all-glass railings. The four levels are linked by this ramp on which the customers have got an almost total view on the different sections of the store.
Construction of the ramp
- Design according to DIN 18065
- 3 flights of stairs, curved and straight stair flight
- 1 stair foot
- Flight width approx. 2,400 mm
- Welded glass pockets on both sides to accomodate the panes for the glass railings

All-glass railings
- Filling of the all-glass railings: panes of laminated safety glass (VSG), 20 mm
- Straight / ascending and curved / ascending
- Bordered with a stainless steel handrail with a slot and a diameter of 48 mm
- Stainless steel tubes with a closed profile to provide for the transmission of forces
- Executed according the currently applicable standards of DIN 18008 and the General General Test Certificate for MetallArt issued by the Building Authorities (abP)

- Smooth underside cladding made of 3 mm thick steel sheet
