Nothing goes more well together than appealing architecture and good food. And the Burgerlich restaurant in Hamburg is the perfect place for this. In the former Commerzbank branch in Hamburg’s historic Gänsemarkt, the managers of the Burgerlich restaurant concept opened their third branch in December 2018. The restaurant impresses with its openly designed, modern architecture in 70s style, for which the successful office GRS Reimer Architekten GmbH from Elmshorn is responsible. On around 700m², colorfully upholstered bar stools, copper-colored lampshades and paving stones invite you to marvel.
The cantilever design staircase with its exceptional layout fits perfectly into the cozy ambience of the restaurant and harmoniously connects the two levels. With the help of an intermediate landing, the spectacular design staircase changes direction after five straight steps and then leads elegantly curved up to the upper floor. The curved glass railing continues in the gallery in the same shape as the staircase. The tread and landing covering as well as the wooden handrail made of solid wood “Burma Teak” give the design staircase a rustic character.
