Steel staircase | OLYMP Bezner KG Bietigheim-Bissingen

With modern shirts, ties, polos and knitwear the gentlemen’s outfitter OLYMP Bezner KG lifts sophisticated men up to their personal OLYMP. The way up to the OLYMP offices in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Ludwigsburg region) is equally classy: a simple and timeless steel staircase with elegant glass steps runs from the ground floor up to the third level of the headquarters. MetallArt mounted the self-supporting steel staircase and welded the construction of the treads and the landing between the stringers.

Project details

Steel staircase with box-type stringers

  • Stair stringers welded from a rectangular profile
  • Steps: approx. 20 per floor
  • Stringer thickness: 64 mm, according to structural requirements
  • Stringer height: 350 mm, according to structural requirements

Coating for the glass steps and the landing of the steel staircase

  • Three-layer laminated safety glass (VSG), tempered safety glass (ESG) for the top layer
  • Thickness: approx. 30 mm plus PVB film
  • Surface: anti-slip screen printing in matt white

Railing for the steel staircase and the landings

  • Stainless steel/steel railings with horizontal filling bars
  • Handrail: diameter of 42 mm, round stainless steel tubes
  • Balusters: milled in the centre to penetrate the filling bars, final paint-coating (metallic grey DB 703)
  • Flat steel brackets as baluster holder
  • One-sided and straight railing at the steel stairs

Stainless steel handrail on the wall

  • Handrail: diameter of 42 mm, stainless steel round tubes
  • Course of the handrail: on the wall side of the steel stairs

For this steel staircase project MetallArt also supplied verifiable structural calculations as well as comprehensive CAD-plans and detailed drawings for submission or project approval.
