Stringer staircase at EVF
The administration building of Energieversorgung Filstal (EVF) in Göppingen, which was completed in 2020, appeals with its cubic, clear look. Its floor-to-ceiling glazing conveys openness and transparency. Inside, the building accommodates not only offices and seminar rooms but also a modern customer center, exhibition areas and a training kitchen. The design comes from the renowned architectural firm blocher partners from Stuttgart.
Stringer staircase as unique eye-catcher
The sculptural, evenly rounded stringer staircase by MetallArt highlights the inviting new building and connects the ground floor with the upper floor. In the superior area of the inner and outer balustrade stringers the MetallArt experts installed a modern light cove which was finished on-site with an LED strip. This element illuminates the 24 steps of the impressive single-flight stringer staircase and creates an atmospheric appearance. On the bottom the entire light cove opening is only approx. 25 mm. On the outer stringer, a rectangular handrail made of European oak contrasts harmoniously with the black lacquered parapet-high railing. The layered gluing of the wooden handrail guarantees the greatest possible stability. As our partner the company Holz-Hacker supported us in the construction of this stair element.
